ADAS recalibration
After a glass change the camera behind the mirror sees the world a few millimetres off. We set it back to factory values.
Cars built after 2018 carry a camera behind the windscreen watching lane markings, road signs and the distance to the car ahead. The glass is its lens. Even a minimal deviation in how the new glass sits shifts the image enough for the system to react late — or needlessly.
Static calibration is done indoors on a level floor with targets positioned exactly to the manufacturer's protocol — distance, height and angle measured by laser, not tape. Dynamic calibration is completed on a predefined route.
Every calibration comes with a protocol listing date, VIN, software version and measured values. Keep it — after an accident it proves the assistance systems were correctly set.
We also calibrate cars whose glass was replaced elsewhere. A dashboard warning about unavailable assistance systems usually points right here.
