The first days after a replacement: what really matters

The list of instructions is usually longer than it needs to be. Three things that matter — and three you can skip.
Leave a window slightly open. For the first twenty-four hours. Slamming a door in a sealed car pushes air against the glass while fresh urethane can still shift microscopically. It is in the adhesive data sheets, not folklore.
Leave the tape on. It holds the trim, not the glass, until it settles. A day is enough.
Avoid pressure washers for two or three days — specifically high-pressure jets aimed at the gap between glass and body. Ordinary rain is fine; we water-tested the seal right after fitting.
What you can skip: you do not need to drive slowly, avoid potholes or park in a garage. After the stated safe drive-away time the bond is certified to hold in a crash.
If you hear whistling at speed or find damp on the pillar trim after rain, come straight back. It is usually a badly seated trim, fixed in fifteen minutes.
