How to claim glass on your policy and pay nothing extra
Insurance
Most drivers have glass cover and half of them do not know it. Step by step: what to prepare and what to watch out for.
Start by opening your policy and finding the glass line. Three options: glass is covered with no excess, covered with a five or ten percent excess, or not covered at all. In the first two cases a claim is almost always worth it.
What to prepare. Registration document, ID, policy number and a photo of the damage.
Do not report it yourself first. If you file through the insurer's app and only then come to us, you are already in a process that cannot easily be switched to a cover note. Call us first.
The cover note is what you want. It is the document confirming the insurer pays the workshop directly. You only pay the excess, if any.
Mind the deadline. Most insurers want the report within fifteen days of discovering the damage.
It will not hurt your bonus. Almost no insurer reduces the no-claims bonus for glass — but check your specific policy.
If unsure, call us with your policy number. Within minutes we will tell you whether claiming is worth it.
