Glass ready for fitting
Glass is ordered against the VIN so the sensor cut-outs, thickness and acoustic layer all match.
A crack up close
A crack longer than five centimetres cannot be repaired to last, so this glass gets replaced.
Vans and light commercials
We replace side and rear glass on vans too, and that includes clearing the shards out of the door.

We bond indoors at a controlled temperature, because it decides how soon the car is safe to drive.
Pinch weld ready for bonding
Residual polyurethane is trimmed to a controlled thickness, then the surface is degreased and treated with an activator.
Damage that is already spreading
Frost and hot water help a crack grow. A fresh chip is repaired while you wait, 35 minutes on average.
Rear glass in winter
On rear glass we also check the heating element connections and the aerial.
Glass stock
Common glass types are kept in stock. The rest usually arrives within one working day.
Check before handover
Twenty minutes after fitting we water-test the seal and check that the trim lines up.
A crack in the driver’s field of view
Once a crack crosses the driver’s field of view we no longer repair it, and it will fail the roadworthiness test.
At work in the workshop
Two of us always set the glass, so the trim lines up first time and nothing shifts.
Tools within reach
Wire, oscillating blades and suction cups. This is how the old glass comes out without damaging the paint.
